D. Scott Allen - Author

After years of helping tell other people’s stories through voiceover and audiobook work, I decided it was time to begin telling my own. Writing has been part of my life for many years, beginning as a personal creative outlet and gradually developing into something much more meaningful.
I primarily write for myself, allowing my imagination to bring to life the new and familiar landscapes that have developed in my mind from childhood through adulthood. Over the years, I have created characters, explored ideas, and formed stories that I often carried inside me for a long time before finally putting them on the page. Some began as short stories or isolated scenes, while others continued to grow as new questions, conflicts, and possibilities emerged.
My background in narration has shaped how I approach storytelling, particularly my attention to voice, rhythm, natural dialogue, and character. Moving from narrator to published author has felt like a natural extension of the creative work I have enjoyed for years, now expressed through stories entirely of my own creation.
Publishing my first books also showed me how much more there might be to tell. Some newer stories, including my return to the world of the Skyborne Saga, only began to take shape after those first books were completed and released. Characters and worlds that I thought I understood revealed new possibilities, encouraging me to look deeper and discover where else their stories might lead.
Several additional novels are currently in development, with more stories waiting to be told. I hope you enjoy them, and I sincerely thank you for coming along for the ride.

Iron Brand, available now in Ebook and Paperback

A disgraced cavalryman. A corrupt frontier town. A weapon that was never meant for human hands.
Utah Territory, 1870. Cole Brannan has spent six years running from the massacre that ended his military career and the grief that hollowed out his life afterward. Broke, hunted, and cornered in a desert canyon by a sheriff’s debt collectors, Cole unearths the one thing he swore he would never touch again: a strange alien relic buried beneath the red stone.
The device bonds to his hand and ignites into a blade of impossible copper-gold light. But the weapon is more than a weapon. It is a recorder. A witness. And it has been waiting for Cole.
When a dead prospector is found with the same geometric mark burned into his chest, Deputy Marisol Vega begins asking questions Sheriff Calhoun Doss would rather keep buried. Together, Cole and Marisol uncover a conspiracy beneath Copperhead Flats involving vanished soldiers, duplicate men with unblinking eyes, copper blood, and a hidden alien structure buried under the frontier town.
As the truth rises from the dust, Cole learns that the Brand is not judging only him. It may be recording the worth of humanity itself.
Part science fiction mystery, part western thriller, Iron Brand blends frontier grit, alien technology, moral reckoning, and high-stakes adventure into a story of guilt, power, and the cost of choosing not to become the thing you fear.

THE AERIE PROTOCOL released May 2026

The Aerie Protocol is a science-fiction thriller about a hidden city in the clouds, an engineered storm that should not exist, and an investigative photographer pulled into a secret world where survival depends on silence.
Marcus “Mac” Allen has spent his career chasing evidence, not myths. But when he uncovers signs of a manufactured supercell, his search for answers leads him far above the known world to the Aerie, a concealed city suspended within the violent currents of the upper atmosphere.
Built on ancient weather-harvesting technology and protected by generations of secrecy, the Aerie is beginning to fail. Its leaders are divided, its systems are unstable, and the forces that once protected it may now threaten the world below.
As Mac works with analyst Sarah Chen, Chief Engineer Elara Vance, and Guardian Kaelen, he must decide whether exposing the truth will save lives or destroy the only people who understand the danger. Blending hidden-world discovery, atmospheric suspense, engineered weather, and moral consequence, The Aerie Protocol explores the cost of secrecy when the sky itself becomes a weapon.
